RateGain launches Hotel Rate Parity Trend reports across 3/4/5 star category hotels in some of the major cities across the world.
RateGain, a leader in competitive price intelligence solution in global travel technology industry, announces the launch of Hotel Rate Parity Trend reports across different category of hotels in major destinations across the world.

Published on a weekly basis to cover hotels in Europe, US, Asia-Pacific, Middle East and Australia & New Zealand, these reports present interesting insights on:

  • How many hotels are able to maintain rate parity?
  • How many hotels have their rates cheaper on their own brand site compared to their rates on other OTAs and vice versa?

Rate parity is being defined as the same rate (with 2% variance) across the brand site as well as OTA sites. This data is presented by analyzing rates available on different check in dates for the next 3 months on brand sites vs. OTA sites. These reports would be available on company’s website as well as some of the main hospitality news portals such as HotelResesource.com.

Objective of this analysis is to provide insights on how hotels are maintaining their parity on their own brand sites as well as different OTA channels. These reports would also offer a deep insight on the seriousness of hotels towards rate parity and on the other hand where the best rates can be found across different top cities worldwide i.e. on a brand site or on OTAs.

Yogeesh Chandra, Head, Knowledge Center, RateGain commented, “Rate parity is an essential value management concept where OTAs need the contractual obligation to be fulfilled to stay competitive while the hotels need to ensure parity on brand sites to maintain their credibility for their most cost effective electronic channel. Rate parity may impact their online revenue positively through better OTA rankings and its potential as an integrity indicator cannot certainly be overlooked. Through these reports, we aim to establish market wise parity hygiene and provide key indices to the revenue and market managers from a strategic viewpoint”.
